The Innovation Station Features:
Reconciliation Through Engineering Initiatives (RTEI), the Centre for Global Engineering (CGEN) is a multi-disciplinary initiative taking a community-based collaborative approach to infrastructure-related challenges faced by Indigenous communities across Canada, from accessing clean drinking water, food security, energy, housing, healthcare, transportation and communication systems.
The Innovation Station is being located in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, at the Heritage Railway Station in partnership with the University of Toronto, Centre for Global Engineering and the Department of Anthropology, and Lakehead University – Research and Innovation Department, with the support of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout – Economic Development, the Northwestern Health Unit, and Sioux Lookout First Nation Health Authority. Approaches to Community Wellbeing and the Sioux Lookout Friendship Accord Partners to tackle challenges facing Northern Ontario and the Far North.
