The Municipality of Sioux Lookout and Lac Seul First Nation are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people and community organizations to participate on a community working group – the Labour Market Working Group.  Please see the additional information below and let us know if you are interested in becoming part of the overall labour market planning and development and the infrastructure projects to support growth and retention of business in the Sioux Lookout region.

Partners in Establishing a Community Labour Market Working Group to Support Community Capacity Building

Strong communities depend on infrastructure, human capital and services such as available/affordable housing, transportation, communication, a skilled available labour force and health services. They also need enthusiastic and motivated people and community organizations.

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout and Lac Seul First Nation has been on a major growth curve with over $250 million in capital projects including a new state-of-the-art hospital, a new MNR Fire Management Centre, Lac Seul’s new events centre and Tim Hortons and increased serviced residential, commercial and industrial land development.

With additional growth and development on the horizon, Sioux Lookout and Lac Seul are preparing for the Keewatin Patricia District School Board’s new cutting edge 30 million Secondary School, a 12.5 million expansion at the Municipal Airport, and the growing opportunities in Hudson including the Lac Seul Training Centre of Excellence expansion and the Boat Bay residential project.
